Thank you for reaching out. EMUAID and EMUAIDMAX First Aid Ointments do have a slightly greasy texture at first because they are oil-based to help protect and moisturize the skin. However, the ointment absorbs quickly and does not leave a heavy or sticky residue. A small amount goes a long way, so we recommend applying a thin layer to the affected area three times a day.
