Nail fungus can be particularly stubborn because the infection can be underneath the nail and affect the nail bed. This is why we recommend EMUAIDMAX First Aid Ointment, our Maximum Strength red and white label, specifically for nail fungus.
EMUAIDMAX utilizes our EMUTANEOUS Delivery System, which is designed to help the formula penetrate through the nail so the active ingredients can reach the affected area underneath. The formula contains Bacillus Ferment, Tea Tree Oil, Silver, and Vitamin E. The enzymes in Bacillus Ferment help break down the biofilm associated with stubborn fungal infections, while Tea Tree Oil and Silver provide antimicrobial activity.
EMUAIDMAX also contains 2X more Bacillus Ferment, 10X more Tea Tree Oil, and 50X more Vitamin E than our Regular Strength EMUAID First Aid Ointment. This is why Maximum Strength is our recommended option for nail fungus.
For the best results, apply a thin layer of EMUAIDMAX 3 to 4 times daily to the entire affected nail, the surrounding skin, and underneath the nail edge wherever it can be safely reached. We recommend using a clean Q-tip or gloves for each affected nail to help avoid spreading the fungus from one nail to another. Consistency is extremely important.
We also recommend avoiding nail polish while treating nail fungus because EMUAIDMAX needs to be able to penetrate the nail.
Depending on the severity, addressing nail fungus can take approximately 2 to 6 weeks, but it is important to understand that the appearance of the nail will take longer to completely improve. The yellow, discolored, thick, or damaged portion of the nail has to physically grow out as a new healthy nail replaces it. Toenails in particular grow slowly, so patience and continued application are important even after you begin noticing improvement.
