For toenail fungus, we recommend EMUAIDMAX First Aid Ointment. For the best results, consistency is very important.
Start by making sure the affected nail and surrounding area are clean and completely dry. Using a clean Q-tip, apply a small amount of EMUAIDMAX directly onto the affected nail, around the edges of the nail, and along the surrounding skin. Apply it a minimum of 3 times daily, typically once in the morning, once when you get home, and again before bedtime. EMUAIDMAX can be used more frequently as needed.
A few additional tips can help you get the most from your treatment:
Avoid nail polish while treating the fungus. Keeping the nail covered can create a dark environment where fungus can thrive.
Use clean tools for each nail. Disinfect nail clippers with rubbing alcohol between nails. If using an emery board, use a separate section for each affected nail and dispose of it afterward to help prevent spreading the fungus.
Keep your shoes and socks clean and dry. Alternate between shoes when possible so each pair has time to dry completely. Shoes can also be aired outside in sunlight. Keeping your feet dry and changing into clean socks regularly can help reduce the chance of reinfection.
Please keep in mind that even after the fungus has been addressed, the discoloration or damaged portion of the nail needs time to grow out and be replaced by healthier nail growth, so patience and consistent application are important.
We hope this helps you get started! We wish you continued healing and hope you begin seeing improvement soon
